Detox - its spring!!

I'm sure you all will agree spring has felt a long time coming - and today the sun is shining all warm and lovely, people out enjoying themselves with picnics and BBQ's
It's so nice to see the trees burst with life, flowers blossom their sweet joy and birds sing to each other in merriment.
But -  alas, what about that winter bulge or that general feeling of sluggishness that can be the after affects of a seemingly endless winter?

I have noticed over the last week a growing trend of clients that come in to see me have the same to report. They are super keen to embrace the spring and feel healthy, but feel sluggish, lethargic and overburdened from a persistent cough, cold or fatigue stressed out and generally feeling flat, they come in for a massage in hope to ease their ongoing symptoms.
Massage is an incredibly supportive way to help remove toxins that can cause these symptoms, it also improves lymphatic waste removal and local blood flow to renew tissue health for increased vitality and to promote general wellbeing.

Another way to tackle these problems is with a detox:

But where to start?

I will keep it simple here, but one of the best and proactive ways to detox is to make the decision to do it!
Thats the first step, once you've done that, you just have to plan.

Sit for an hour or so with a pad of paper and think about

What you want to achieve? More energy? Feel healthier? Remove a bad habit or loose a few Kg's?

How long do you want to dedicate to your detox? Advisably 2weeks is a minimum to get results.

How will you do it? The most obvious omission in a detox are the naughties, these are a must sadly, so no coffee, sugar or alcohol for your chosen time frame. The rest is up to you, no wheat or dairy are other alternatives, if you want to to undertake a full detox to get maximum results, its best to do under the guidance of a qualified Naturopath or Nutritionist.

What to include? Lots of water, fresh fruit and veggies are important, as are sleep, exercise, sunshine, laughter and friends and family!! Detoxing can be a hard task for some doing it with a friend is great support

Detox you life while your at it!!  What else can be improved or removed and gained? Have a think and write down any negative habits, thoughts, friends(girl/boyfriends!!) that you are ready to shed, then write down what you would like to replace them with. Go crazy be as imaginative as you want, if you don't set your goal you'll never reach it!!

DON'T FORGET TO WRITE IT ALL DOWN!! The universe loves when we are specific about what we want to achieve. So set your goal and go for it!
Stick your detox plan somewhere so it is the first thing you see when you get up and the last thing you see before bed!

Why Hot Stone Therapy

The Breath in the Stone

For thousands of years many indigenous cultures have honored that stones are sacred, utilising their properties for healing and have sourced stones locations for sacred ritual and worship sites.
Stone massage is an ancient and enduring form of healing bodywork where its many benefits effect our emotional, physical and spiritual beings.

More recently stone work has experienced resurgence in the modern spa industry with luxuriant relaxation treatments and facials.
The many healing benefits have been recognised by progressive healers all over the world.
Stone therapy utilises the benefits of massage therapy with its ability to enhance circulation and reduce muscle tension. Pointed textures are used as tools to De-activate trigger points and deep tissue massage.
Healing stone therapy requires a harmonious understanding of healing energies between the client, the therapist and the stones. For healing to take place there must be transference of deep compassion and trust between the therapist and the client.
Stones are swirling microcosms of energy, of life, or the divine. They are from the earth thus carry the earth's vibration in essence.
The honoring, cleaning and treatment of the stones are imperative for their healing potential.

The Kahuna Massage Journey Begins!!

I'm very pleased to announce that in November in will be undertaking the beginning of my Kahuna massage journey.
Kahuna massage is about connection, energy, development, compassion, trust and above all love.
My training takes place in the beautiful hinterland near Brisbane. Immersed in tranquil and relaxing surrounds I will  spend a week learning Hawaiian philosophy, dance and of coarse massage!!
A major aspect of this process is centered around personal development. Aligning the mental emotional and spiritual bodies with the infinite of the Universe allows for freedom and harmony both within and without

Kahuna personal development includes:

Experiencing a deep understanding of yourself

Experiencing a whole new way of living, thinking, feeling and listening to yourself and others

Changing your direction in life by discovering your powers

Creating and maintaining the lifestyle you want.

Becoming your own "clairvoyant"

Assisting and supporting others in the transformation

So this is great news for me, and I am feeling very blessed to be taking part of this transformational journey

Stay tuned :)

Blessings of Aloha
